Job Title: Estimating Manager

Location: North London

With a reputation for excellence and innovation, they are seeking an experienced Estimating Manager to join their team.

Role Overview: As an Estimating Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the tendering process, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness in bids for projects across multiple sectors. You will lead a team of estimators, guiding them through the estimation process from initial bid to final submission. Your expertise will contribute to the company's success in securing new projects and maintaining client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the entire estimating process, from initial assessment to final submission of bids.
  • Manage a team of estimators, providing guidance and support to ensure accuracy and efficiency in tender submissions.
  • Collaborate with various departments to gather necessary information and ensure alignment with project requirements.
  • Analyse project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to accurately determine project costs.
  • Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather pricing information and negotiate competitive rates.
  • Utilise estimating software and tools to streamline the estimation process and improve accuracy.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory requirements to inform bidding strategies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field is advantageous but not essential
  • Proven experience in a similar role within the construction industry, preferably with a principal contractor or developer
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and mentor a team.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge of building regulations and construction standards.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
