Position: Estimator/Quantity Surveyor: As an Estimator/Quantity Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in our team, ensuring the successful planning and execution of our construction projects. You will be responsible for accurately estimating project costs, preparing tender documents, and managing the financial aspects of our projects from inception to completion. Your expertise will contribute to the overall success and profitability of our projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for residential and commercial construction projects.
  • Analyze project specifications and drawings to determine materials, labor, and equipment requirements.
  • Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to obtain competitive quotes and negotiate contracts.
  • Collaborate with project managers and architects to develop comprehensive project budgets and schedules.
  • Monitor project costs and expenditures, identifying variances and implementing cost-saving measures as necessary.
  • Prepare and submit progress claims, valuations, and final accounts in accordance with contractual requirements.
  • Conduct regular site visits and inspections to assess progress and identify potential cost implications.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends, pricing fluctuations, and regulatory changes affecting construction costs.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an Estimator/Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry, preferably within luxury design and build projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and building regulations.
  • Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., CostX, Bluebeam) and MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Membership in a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS) is desirable.
