Responsibilities:

  • Act as a supervisor on duty for events. This includes planning, assigning, directing work, and addressing complaints.
  • Assists with managing the setup of events.
  • Reviewing Banquet Event Orders, making copies, posting for staff.
  • Ensure familiarity with Banquet Room set for each function.
  • Coordinate with the Manager for any staffing issues, timing, beverage requirements, special instructions, or last-minute changes.
  • Review non-food requirements such as awards tables, Registration Tables, audiovisual needs, etc. for each function.
  • Coordinate with banquet chef on event counts, menu items, special requests and timing of meal completion.
  • Ensure that function rooms are set to specifications outlined on the banquet event order.
  • Prepares a sample place setting for staff and assigns responsibilities.
  • Provide leadership direction and ensure that props are available and in good repair.
Qualifications
  • 1-2 years of experience as an event captain, event server or similar. Degree in hospitality or related field is a plus.
  • Ability to manage many staff members.
  • Great time management and multitasking abilities.
  • Developed English skills both written and orally.
