Contract type: Fixed Term/Secondment for 12 Months

The role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Ex-Offender and Complex Needs Referrals Coordinator to join our Pathways Move On Team. The successful candidate will co-ordinate referrals to specialist supported housing projects in the London Borough of Camden for clients who have a history of offending behaviour. The role also includes coordinating referrals to a specialist service for homeless clients with very complex needs as well as coordinating supported housing reciprocal referrals with other local authorities.

The post holder will need to balance pressures arising from corporate, housing and probation service priorities, including community safety and public protection. They will be confident in maintaining partnerships with stakeholders and taking initiative in decision making.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require an Enhanced DBS. Please note Camden also offers the DBS update service.

To be considered for this fantastic opportunity the successful candidate must have at least one year’s previous demonstrable experience of providing advice and assistance to vulnerable adults in housing need and/or those who are engaged with the criminal justice system. You will possess an excellent working knowledge of welfare benefits system as well as homelessness services and legislation. 

The ideal candidate will have an in-depth understanding of the Hostels Pathway Model, the various stages within the pathway, available housing options and the perceived barriers to move on. Additionally you’ll excellent written and verbal communication skills, with to ability to manage a caseload whilst maintaining detailed case records, recognising service priorities and meeting deadlines.
