Full Job Description

The shifting landscape of strategic asset management is a challenge. Platform Housing Group are searching for a dynamic leader to navigate those challenges and to champion the delivery of a customer-first housing experience.


Platform Housing Group are one of the largest housing associations in the UK owning and managing over 48,000 homes across the Midlands from Herefordshire in the West to the Lincolnshire coast in the East, and from the Derbyshire Dales in the North to the Cotswolds in the South. They serve 120,000 customers across a property portfolio worth £2.4bn

As their strategic lead for all things asset management you will be a proven leader ideally with strong experience in either the Housing or wider Real Estate sector. You will be an accomplished relationship builder who can challenge constructively, motivate effectively and inspire with integrity. You will drive compliance, prioritise efficiency and champion strategic customer safety.


Their portfolio includes homes for social and affordable rent as well as shared ownership homes. They also offer supported housing schemes and retirement living accommodation right across their regions.


Working as part of their established Executive Team and reporting the to the Group Chief Executive, you will be the custodian of the group’s property portfolio. You will take collective responsibility for the continued delivery of a successful business and for delivery of their corporate strategy.


Key Responsibilities:

Executive Team Leadership

  • Influence, develop, and promote corporate strategic direction, aims, and objectives.
  • Contribute to corporate governance by providing guidance and advice to the Board and associated committees.
  • Contribute to the growth and development of the Group, ensuring future viability and a value-for-money approach.
  • Establish and embed a continuous improvement culture to exploit new opportunities and maximize future potential.


Leadership and group culture:

  • Inspire and encourage a group culture reflecting and embedding Platform’s Values.
  • Demonstrate leadership behaviours setting examples for all employees.
  • Empower colleagues to embrace change and innovation.


Asset & Portfolio management:

  • Align Asset Management function with the wider business to optimize business processes.
  • Develop and implement effective Asset Management Strategy for short, medium, and long term.
  • Lead asset valuation, disposal, and investment strategies.
  • Manage planned, cyclical, and responsive repairs and maintenance programs.
  • Develop strategic relationships with stakeholders and manage financial discussions affecting property management.


Financial Management and Compliance:

  • Oversee budgets for the Asset Management directorate, ensuring adherence to financial regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with all Landlord Health and Safety requirements.
  • Apply a Value for Money approach to all activities.
