Role:  Experienced Recovery Claims Negotiator

Contract:  Homeworking

Hours:  37.5 Hours Monday -Friday 9 am-5:30 pm

Salary : £27,300- £28,612.50 (depending on experience)


We have a fantastic opportunity to join Hastings Direct from the comfort of your own home. Job Details  – 

  • Recover our costs back on Non-Standard claims such as withdrawn indemnity on Bodily Injury claims, Credit Hire recovery and dual insurance.  
  • Communicating via telephone (incoming and outbound calls) and written correspondence with the policyholder, keeping them updated on all material developments, witnesses, and other external and internal stakeholders including engineers, suppliers, insurers, solicitors and third parties to bring about resolution of the claim.
  • Interface with relevant claims units and departments within the company.
  • Validation of claim to ensure the policy is operational.
  • Expertly handles challenging conversations and complaints. 
  • Inputting and prompt updating of claims reserves on our in-house systems.
  • Effectively uses the diary system to maintain a proactive claims-handling approach.
  • Ensure each claim is dealt with in line with company/departmental procedure/philosophy and within service level agreements whilst working towards individual and department targets.  
  • Investigate liability where required and make decisions, admitting or disputing.

Skills you will need – 

  • Recovery or technical claims experience is essential.
  • Experience in file handling and owning your own allocation of work.
  • Good understanding of indemnity, subrogation, liability and litigation. 
  • Good data entry and IT skills, with experience using Microsoft Excel, Teams, Word and Access, are desirable.
  • Cert CII is desirable but not essential.
  • Proven track record of problem-solving and delivering results.
  • Telephone-based work experience and a proactive approach to work and investigation are desirable.
