Factory Operative

Are you looking for a rewarding role in the manufacturing industry? Our client, a leading manufacturing organisation, is seeking a dedicated Factory Operative to join their team in Newhaven. As a Factory Operative, you will play a vital role in the production process, assisting with various tasks to ensure smooth operations and the delivery of high-quality products.

Details of role:

  • Monday-Friday: 7:30-16:30 with a half day on Fridays!
  • Salary: 11.44-12.50 per hour

Responsibilities:

- Operating Machinery: You will operate and monitor machinery and equipment following standard operating procedures. This may include assembly and other manufacturing equipment.

- Assembly and Packaging: Assist in assembling and packaging finished products, ensuring accurate labelling and packaging for shipment.

- Material Handling: Safely and efficiently handle raw materials, components, and finished products. This includes loading and unloading materials and transporting goods within the factory. Working within the fabrication, assembly, goods in/out departments and carry some delivery duties

- Maintenance and Cleaning: Perform routine maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment is essential.
  • Possession of a valid driving licence is essential.
  • Forklift licence is desirable.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to operate machinery safely.
  • Strong attention to detail and adherence to quality standards.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
