Job Description:

Symantec, a division of Broadcom, protects customers’ data, devices, workloads, and employees wherever they are, through Symantec Enterprise Cloud (SEC), our hybrid data-centric security platform.  SEC is the industry’s most complete integrated solution for securing on-premise, hybrid, and cloud environments via a global Security Service Edge architecture.  Broadcom’s culture is technology centric and focused around building teams that are diverse in experiences, ideas, and perspectives.

As a Symantec Field CISO, you will work with Broadcom’s most strategic global customers, predominantly those in the Financial Service Industry (FSIs). This is the perfect opportunity for a Security thought leader to transform the way that Symantec advises our clients on security strategy.  You will join an experienced, globally distributed team relying on their collective knowledge and technical know-how in cybersecurity across various domains, including network security, information security, and endpoint security.

This experienced CISO practitioner will be partnering with their C-level customer executives in various countries to evangelize our vision and accompany large enterprises in their journey towards a SASE and Zero Trust architecture.  The Field CISO will focus on a specific set of accounts and is responsible for connecting and building relationships, bringing thought leadership and new perspectives to them, and challenge their thinking.

What you'll be doing:

  • Be a trusted strategic business advisor to C-level customers in enabling their security transformation, including but not limited to CSO, CISO, and CROs.
  • Lead meetings and workshops in order to understand CISO initiatives and expected outcomes then formulate strategic directions to help address them in the short, mid and long term.
  • Challenge customer strategy, and the norm, by providing thought leadership and insights in Cyber Security and risk management in a cloud centric “work from home” environment.
  • Partner with the Sales and Solution Engineering organization to transition the outcome of the workshops and meetings into actionable intelligence that enables the design, architecture, delivery, and adoption of Symantec solutions.
  • Lead thought leadership discussions at customer round table meetings, executive dinners, industry conferences and other events.
  • Partner with the Global Product organization to act both as a “voice of the customer” back into the organization as well as to be able to have forward-looking strategic discussions with customers.
  • Maintain up-to-date technology, industry and market knowledge.
  • Build a CISO customer reference network across your accounts.

What we're looking for:

  • The ideal candidate is a former CISO (vendor or customer), VP Security, Senior Security Strategist, Senior Security Architect or equivalent role.
  • Strong experience interacting at the C-level (internally as a business partner or externally as a vendor)
  • Deep subject matter expert in cybersecurity, ideally with a focus in one or more of the following domains: cloud security, data protection, network security, endpoint security, information security, SASE / SSE, Zero Trust/ZTNA.  More specifically, experience with Secure Web Gateways (Proxies), Web Isolation, Email Security Gateways, Firewalls, DLP, CASB, and EDR is beneficial.
  • Strong client-facing presentation skills and the ability to communicate complex concepts to a wide range of audiences, including technical and non-technical customers
  • The ability to apply the CISO mind-set into the Sales organization at Broadcom, and map commercial value to a customer’s longer term business goals and Symantec technology investments.
  • Ability to create and understand a cyber-security strategy and how it can be executed in a multi-national organization
  • Team player with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team and across geographies
  • Self-motivated and able to handle multiple, competing priorities with urgency
  • Ability to navigate a matrixed organization where multiple internal partners require engagement to develop and advance sales and adoption opportunities.
  • Bachelor’s Degree Required.  Master’s or advanced degree a plus.  Certification as a Certified Information Security Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Chief Information Security Officer (CCISO), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) or equivalent is also a plus.
