Nicholas Associates are working with Birmingham's premier Hydraulics, fluid engineering and chemical processing companies.
We are on the lookout for a Field Service Engineer on a full time permanent basis.
As the go-to person for our valued customers on-site, you'll skilfully manage customer interactions with a touch of professionalism and expertise, tackling a diverse range of rotating equipment challenges. Beyond the field, you'll find yourself immersed in our cutting-edge workshop, contributing to innovation in a state-of-the-art environment when not out in the field
Your main tasks and responsibilities:
- Lead and inspire an on-site team, ensuring a comprehensive focus on Health, Safety, and Environmental standards for yourself and your team.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for our valued customers at their sites or locations, managing all customer interactions with professionalism and expertise.
- Conduct fault-finding activities on a diverse range of rotating machinery, showcasing your technical prowess and problem-solving skills.
- Execute the dismantling, inspection, and rebuilding of machinery in adherence to pre-established Undertake equipment removal, installations, and commissioning activities, contributing to seamless project execution.

- Conduct alignment checks using either DTIs or Laser alignment equipment.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Successful completion of a recognised 4-year apprenticeship or possession of a mechanical engineering qualification.
- Experience working with a verity of Rotating Equipment.
- Flexibility and adaptability to navigate changes in project requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills, ensuring precision in every task.
- Strong relationship-building and customer service skills, establishing trust and confidence with our clients.
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively as part of a team, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
