Finance Assistant

Full Job Description

NXTGEN have a unique opportunity for an Assistant Accountant to join a very successful team within a market leading business in Peterborough. As Assistant Accountant you will join a fasted paced environment where you will have exposure to to a wide variety of responsibilities. The role is ideally suited for someone who is looking to continue their career in Finance with a business that has a reputation of developing their employees career's. You will ideally have experience in similar fasted paced business with strong IT and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accounts Payables; reviewing and posting invoices. Preparing payment runs.
• Reviewing and posting expenses, analysing for accruals and recharges.
• Preparation of journals and trial balance analysis.
• Preparation of VAT returns and related reporting.
• Complete end of month close procedures.
• Preparation of monthly reporting packs
• Monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Supporting the analytical reviews and margin analysis required at month-end, forecasts, and budgets.

The successful candidate will ideally be AAT qualified or nearing qualification with the ambition to further onto ACCA or equivalent. You will need to have prior experience working within a similar role, You will also need to be enthusiastic about your career with great organisational skills and an eye for detail.
