Finance Clerk - Cashiers

Newport Pagnell, Milton Keynes, MK16 9EZ

Salary – up to £27,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Full time role. Hybrid working model.

What will your role look like?

As a Finance Clerk (Cashiers) at Welcome Break, you will be part of the wider finance team, working within Accounts Receivable. Our cashiers team totals three employees and are responsible for safeguarding our company cash, which includes reconciliations of cash from our sites and credit card transactions. In addition then looking at reconciliation to bank accounts and ensuring payments are made on a timely basis to agreed authority limits.

 

You will be responsible for:

 

  • Reconciliation of Unmatched Bankings and investigation of any discrepancies to minimise loss
  • Reconciliation of bank accounts and balance sheet accounts to auditable standards
  • Weekly processing and reconciliation of Cash in Transit payments
  • Ensure all unpaid cheques/chargebacks are processed in accordance with Company procedures
  • Processing of faster payments/CHAPS in accordance with bank mandate and maintenance of head office cash cycle controls
  • Processing of weekly, monthly and ad hoc payments into the online banking system, Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking Online (CBO)
  • Daily Payments Log including reconciliations to CBO closing balances
  • Processing of Credit Card transaction charges
  • Timely and accurate posting of all banking transactions
  • Reconciliation of change account, all queries resolved
  • Critical tasks within the Cashiers Department e.g. Safe contents log, Safe Custody, etc.

About you

Ideally we are looking for someone who has:

  • Cashiers experience
  • Reconciliation experience
  • Experience dealing with operations within a multi-site business will be useful
  • Basic accounting knowledge and numeracy skills
  • Knowledge of MS Office – especially excel
