Full Job Description

WE Talent are currently working with a national Insurance organisation in central Essex who are looking for a Finance Director to join their senior management team.

Our client is seeking an experienced Finance Director who has previously worked within the Insurance industry. The candidate must be fully qualified and have an understanding of Solvency II.

The role is working on a hybrid basis from their central modern offices, and you will be managing a long standing finance team. The business prides themselves on working with clients in order to provide the best possible insurance solutions across multiple categories.

Key responsibilities

- Overall responsibility for financial management within the business and maintain all accounting records accurately

- Manage relationships between the finance team and external auditors when producing financial statements and annual reports

- Manage the production of data to create an accurate valuation of company assets to monitor solvency trends, and present this to the board

- Ensure regular updates across all senior management and board members to facilitate smooth information flow

- Fulfil legal responsibilities as defined by the Companies Act

- Organise board meetings, issue agendas, and prepare minutes and financial schedules

- Maintain company registers and ensure timely filing of returns to Companies House

- Safeguard all company and statutory legal documentation

- Develop and implement procedures to ensure compliance throughout the business

- Monitor compliance with company policies and procedures through audit activities

- Continually review and improve company policies, processes, and procedures

- Implement non-financial services regulation to avoid litigation and reputational damage

Skills/experience needed

- Fully qualified (ACCA or CIMA)

- Previous experience within the Insurance industry

- Previous experience with Solvency II

- Previous analytical experience

- Proficient in interpreting legislation and effectively communicating its implications to colleagues
