Finance Director - #1 role

Central London

C100,000 + Bonus + Benefits

PE backed rapid growth SME

This rapidly expanding and highly successful organisation has over several years developed a market leading reputation for high quality delivery and excellence in service.

Recently acquired by a PE firm, the business is now embarking on a journey of rapid scale-up through both M&A activity and organic growth. With acquisitions already under way this is an exciting time for the business.

Reporting to the CEO, as Finance Director you will:

  • Partner the Exec team, providing insight and guidance on all finance matters Own end-to-end finance for the business, managing the relationship with an outsourced accounting provider (future insourcing project)
  • Execute financial management and insight, enabling sound decision making and steering business success through commercial support & financial analysis of performance
  • Create a robust and efficient financial control environment, ensuring a 'no surprises' reporting structure
  • Business case and decision support for key initiatives and sales opportunities, ensuring alignment with overall strategic objectives
  • Develop the management reporting pack and appropriate KPIs
  • Financial support for acquisitions including pre-acquisition analysis and post-acquisition integration
  • Lead on FP&A including budgeting and forecasting for Group and entities
  • Advise on expansion into new markets and ongoing investment business cases
  • Build the appropriate financial models to enable business critical decision making
  • Deliver transparent cashflow forecasting
  • Work closely with the PE firm on ad hoc projects

Required candidate Profile:

  • Qualified accountant
  • Practical and hands-on knowledge of both FP&A and Financial Control
  • Experience of successfully partnering and influencing senior commercial stakeholders
  • Able to effortlessly describe examples of when delivered significant value-add in previous roles
  • Has worked within a growing SME environment
  • Displays immediate credibility and gravitas
  • Exceptional levels of communication, influencing and presentation skills
  • High levels of intellectual horsepower
  • Tenacious, with an appetite to get stuck-in
  • Happy to push back and challenge senior stakeholders
  • Hungry to keep developing and learning
