Finance and Accounts Manager - Property Management / Construction

About

My client is a Chartered Surveyors based in Mayfair, London specialising in setting up and managing commercial property syndicates. There are numerous property syndicates under management, as well as the management of properties on behalf of other clients such as private individuals, High Net Worth Individuals, companies, pension schemes and trusts. Property portfolios managed range in size from £1 million to in excess of £50 million.

The role

The role reports to the Partners. The job location is Mayfair, London.

Responsibilities include:

* Review of quarterly VAT calculations and VAT returns, which include partial exemption calculations, for all the companies and related entities as well as for the property syndicates.

* Operational cash management, including making payments.

* Sales and Purchase ledger management.

* Preparing and submitting regulatory returns to the FCA via GABRIEL

* Liaising with outsourced bookkeepers on the bookkeeping and VAT matters for all the entities as well as the property syndicates.

* Reviewing annual statutory accounts for all the companies and related entities.Dealing with the accountants on the annual accounts.

* Dealing with the accountants in respect of the annual preparation of each property syndicate’s accounts and tax certificates for all investors.

* Distributing the property syndicates’ annual accounts and tax certificates to all investors.

* Dealing with the accountants in respect of the annual preparation of service charge accounts for relevant properties. Reviewing the service charge accounts and arranging distribution to tenants.

* Liaising with the payroll bureau regarding monthly payroll.

* Ad-hoc administrative duties

Requirements and skills:

* Excellent attention to detail when checking information with an ability to recognise and question anomalies.

* Proactive with a positive can-do attitude.

* Ability to organise and prioritise workload to maximum effect.

* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
