Job Title: Office Manager / Senior Administrator with Bookkeeping Duties

Location: Ferndown
Industry: Engineering (Architectural Metalwork)
Type: Full-time, Permanent

A leading engineering company in Ferndown, specializing in architectural metalwork, is looking for a versatile and dynamic individual to join their team. As a vital contributor to our business, you will play a dual role that combines bookkeeping responsibilities with senior administrative duties.

Job Description:
In this multifaceted position, you will spend part of your time managing bookkeeping tasks on Sage, including data entry up to trial balance level, previously handled by a part-time staff member for 2 days a week. The remainder of your time will be dedicated to functioning as a Senior Administrator/Office Manager. You will assist the new group owners with implementing change and business improvement strategies. This role is essential for the smooth operation and progressive development of our office environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Bookkeeping: Manage all bookkeeping tasks including data input on Sage up to trial balance.
  • Administration and Office Management: Help implement new business strategies and changes under the direction of group owners.
  • General Office Management: Answer telephones, update skills matrices, ensure all personnel have the necessary documentation such as CSCS cards and valid FLT licenses.
  • Support for Projects: Liaise with teams to ensure timely receipt of materials, maintain vehicle documentation (MOT, tax), and monitor applications for funding.
  • Document Control: Manage the filing and organization of key documents.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in bookkeeping and office management, preferably within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong proficiency with Sage and other financial systems.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a dynamic workplace.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and project management.
  • Experience in teh construction sector would be preffereable
