Full Job Description

Sizewell C. The power of good for Britain. 

Location: London (hybrid working arrangements). 

Employment type: Permanent full-time/ part-time. 

Employment basis: The role is expected to be a full- time position however we are open to discussing a more flexible or part- time approach where possible. 

Salary: £60,000 to £70,000 dependent on experience, plus bonus and other benefits.

The Opportunity

Come and join our expanding Sizewell C (SZC) team and work on one of the most exciting and largest megaprojects in the UK, whilst being at the forefront of the UK’s climate change agenda and energy policy.

Following on from the success of Hinkley Point C (HPC), the SZC Project is a nuclear new build project in Suffolk, which has obtained planning approval and Government financing support. The project is now seeking private investment with a view to start construction in 2024. When completed, it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years, which along with renewables, will support Britain to achieve Net Zero by 2050. 


We have a fantastic opportunity for a Financial Accountant you’ll be supporting the project to deliver their priorities and objectives. You will provide support to the SZC Financial Control Manager and Leadership Team to deliver challenge, assurance and the robust reporting of financial information to support decision making by the SZC leadership and external stakeholders. 
 
Our teams are set up to work flexibly, with a hybrid working approach between our offices and your home. We provide a full suite of IT equipment to ensure that our employees can work from home comfortably and effectively. 

The Role 

 
You’ll will be empowered to contribute meaningfully to the SZC project, showing initiative and drive in establishing autonomous processes and developing these via continual and sustainable improvement. 
 
You’ll need to be both reactive and proactive to the continual changing environment in which we work; whether those changes come from needs of the project, stakeholders or from external influences. 

You have proven experience of researching and understanding technical IFRS related matters and are highly motivated to engage on IFRS research, interpretation, and application to industry transactions.

You will be able to work independently and identify key issues with the ability to seek out necessary resources.

You’ll demonstrate drive and commitment towards achieving targets and good project management. 

 
 
The Skills 


You’ll be focused, proactive and a strategic thinker with a core understanding of Financial principles and a technical accounting background. 

You’ll combine your technical and financial expertise with their knowledge of the external commercial environment and industry, the business entity and its operating model, objectives and challenges. 

You’ll work collaboratively with the other Finance teams under the CFO but also with the wider project.

You’ll be a Qualified Accountant with a recognised UK Professional Organisation ( ACCA, ICAEW, ICAS, CIMA)
