Full Job Description

We are looking for a Financial Controller to join us here at nDreams and take full ownership of the day-to-day management of our accounting function.

Working closely with our newly-created FP&A division, this critical role ensures we are complying with the latest accounting regulations and building robust policies and internal controls, whilst demonstrating industry best practices in all that we do.

With a focus on creating efficiencies and continually improving our internal processes, there are also opportunities to lead exciting systems implementations and to get involved in cross-departmental projects.

This is a great role for somebody looking to get stuck in and roll their sleeves up, to make an instant and ongoing impact to our business as we continue to scale!

Key responsibilities:

  • Managing the day-to-day operations and deliverables of the accounting team, ensuring full compliance and providing guidance on complex accounting areas such as revenue recognition and intercompany cross-charging
  • Taking ownership for all financial accounting for 10 legal entities including COA management and NetSuite administration
  • Responsibility for the team’s delivery of month-end close, including monthly management accounts and group/investor reporting
  • Ownership of Cash flow reporting and Balance Sheet management
  • Developing and implementing financial policies, procedures and controls, whilst ensuring robust financial systems and processes are in place
  • Playing a lead role in the annual external audit processes
  • Overseeing the company’s Payroll and AP functions, developing efficient processes and practices, and acting as a super-user on our Banking, AP and expenses systems
  • Leading the company’s various tax processes, including VAT, VGTR and R&D tax relief
  • Supporting our Business Partnering program to ensure budget holders have access to reliable MI
  • Leading and managing the accounting team (currently 4 direct/indirect reports), providing guidance and demonstrating a collaborative and supportive approach
  • Working closely with the Head of Finance to continually develop the Finance function, and with preparing other financial information as required

Requirements

Essential capabilities:

  • Qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACCA) with a strong technical background including solid audit and tax exposure
  • Team leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and provide both encouragement and constructive feedback to your team
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of complex financial issues
  • Goal oriented and deadline driven with a keen attention to detail
  • Strong IT and systems skills, especially in Excel

Desired experience:

  • Process improvement skills
  • NetSuite experience
  • Knowledge and experience of IFRS, particularly around leases and revenue recognition
