Harmonic are delighted to be working on a retained basis with one of the most highly reputable art galleries set in the heart of London, in the search for their next Financial Controller during an exciting period of growth for the business.

The Business:

With a deep and rich history dating back to inception in the mid 1960s, our client has built a fantastic reputation both domestically and internationally, selling both modern and contemporary art to collectors all around the world. With directors and senior leaders that have spent their respective careers within the business, there is a great internal culture centred around a love of the creative arts. As an SME, the business boast a healthy balance sheet, growing organically and with turnover at circa £20 million.

Based in a bustling and thriving area of central London, the gallery sell their work to a wide variety of markets and look set to continue their impressive growth year on year. Due to the sociable, tight knit and fast paced culture in place, this is the perfect opportunity for outward facing candidates that thrive of an office environment that enjoy making a real difference with their work.

The Role:

As the number one in finance, this role will offer exposure to an exciting range of duties, while working closely with the senior director to enact the companies short and long term vision. There will also be a clear progression runway for the right candidate in line with their ambitions and desires to grow with the business. There is also an Accounts Assistant on a part time basis that will require direct line managing and guiding where necessary.

Main duties:

  • Preparation of Cash Flow forecasts
  • Preparation of weekly sales and cost of sales figures
  • Prepare monthly financial reports / accounts together with detailed analysis of the figures
  • Preparation of year end accounts and notes for external audit
  • Preparation of monthly payroll and arranging pension deductions & payments;
  • Prepare and file monthly VAT Returns
  • Artist statements, reporting and monitoring their settlements.
  • Processes to enhance internal controls and to maintain well-documented accounting records

What we need to see (essential):

  • ACCA / CIMA / ACA Qualified or Qualified by Experience
  • Strong outward facing character


What we need to see (bonus):

  • Experience in Retail / Luxury Goods
  • Passion for the art space


Salary:
£65,000 - £75,000 + bonus
