Role Summary:
Capital Fixed Income Investors invests broadly across the global fixed income markets with $450bn of assets under management. As the business continues to grow its global fixed income capabilities, it wishes to add an experienced sovereign analyst to the team, covering the developed market rates and currencies. The position is based in London.
Key relationships:
This role will report to Robert Burgess, Research Director, and Fixed Income Investment Analyst
Fixed Income Portfolio Managers, Fixed Income Analysts, Fixed Income Traders, and relevant distribution teams
Key responsibilities:
Principal responsibilities include:
Conducting financial and macro analysis of rates and currencies across major developed markets outside the US
Engaging in primary, direct research in specific areas of coverage
Making investment recommendations to portfolio managers
Managing a portfolio of securities in a specific sector coverage
Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
Candidates will have had at least 5 years’ experience in either sovereign research, portfolio management, strategist, or macro economist roles, in either the private or public sectors
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Candidates will be comfortable and familiar presenting research in a variety of different ways, for example through thematic reports, weekly briefings and through oral presentation
Ability to work proactively and creatively in a global team environment
Candidates will be familiar working with a range of internal stakeholders
Post-graduate qualification preferred
Candidates will have excellent academics and hold a bachelor’s degree from a top university as well as ideally a relevant post-graduate qualification (MBA, CFA, Master’s in Finance/Economics).

In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital’s annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
