Full Job Description

The EduQuality Foundational Literacy for Colombia Intern will be part of the Product Development team responsible for researching, designing, and providing recommendations to the LAC Coordinator to contextualize the literacy modules for teachers' professional development in Colombia.

RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Perform extensive desk research to identify the foundation, characteristics, and didactic sequence of orality, reading, and writing both broadly and within the context of low-cost private schooling in Colombia.
  • Document case studies and success stories of current practices in Bogotá, Barranquilla, and Cartagena to expand upon desk research.
  • Curate a presentation outlining the findings and drawing recommendations.
  • Support the review of existing literature on orality, reading, and writing in Colombia and note potential changes that need to be considered when contextualizing.
  • Assist in the breakdown of a review of the current EduQuality programme offering in panish LAC countries.
  • Compile and present recommendations/considerations to help determine the most suitable to support reading and comprehension in Colombia.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be enrolled in a credited college graduate or undergraduate program.
  • Working toward a graduate-level degree, ideally in Literacy, Early Childhood, Spanish, International Education and Development, etc.
  • Bilingual, ideally Spanish native speaker.
  • Deep abiding passion for the mission of Opportunity International and its commitment to economic, spiritual, and social transformation.

CAPSTONE PROJECT

A curated presentation outlining the findings, drawing recommendations, and contextualizing Year 2 Literacy modules for Colombia.
