Are you a skilled and dedicated moulding operative with a passion for shaping different metals? If so, we want to hear from you! Our client is a prestigious foundry, seeking a talented and experienced Moulder to join their team and play a crucial role in producing high-quality castings for a diverse range of industries.

Position: Moulder

Shifts: Monday - Thursday 6am - 2.50pm Friday mornings available as overtime - Overtime also available on weekends (Overtime rates available)

Job Summary: As a Moulder, you will be responsible for transforming raw materials, such as iron, steel, or other metals, into castings of various shapes and sizes. Working within our dusty, heavy foundry environment, you will use your expertise to operate and maintain moulding equipment, ensuring the production of accurate, defect-free, and durable castings. Your precision and attention to detail will be instrumental in creating products that meet or exceed our clients' expectations.

Responsibilities:

Mould Preparation: Prepare moulds by carefully arranging sand or other materials according to specific patterns, ensuring the mould is capable of withstanding the casting process.

Casting Production: Pour molten metal into moulds to create castings, employing safe and efficient practices to prevent defects and imperfections.

Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain various moulding machines and tools, such as jolt-squeeze moulding machines, green sand moulding machines, and core shooters.

Quality Control: Inspect finished castings for accuracy, defects, and quality standards, and make necessary adjustments to ensure compliance with specifications.

Material Handling: Handle and transport heavy materials and castings safely and efficiently.

Pattern Maintenance: Ensure the longevity and accuracy of patterns used in the moulding process by performing regular maintenance and repairs.

Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, maintaining a clean and organised work environment, and comply with all relevant regulations.

Requirements:

Experience: Proven work experience as a Moulder in a foundry environment, with a strong understanding of moulding techniques and casting processes.

Skills: Excellent hand-eye coordination, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.

Physical Stamina: Capable of performing physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials and standing for extended periods.

Safety Awareness: A strong commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and adherence to safety guidelines.

Team Player: Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Flexibility: Willingness to work in shifts, overtime, and adapt to changing production requirements.
