We are supporting various customers worldwide with functional safety and cyber security engineering.

 We are recruiting for a Functional Safety and Cyber Security Principal Engineer for our UK customer. 

Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and define safety requirements for various automotive components and systems
  • Performing safety assessments throughout the development lifecycle, from concept to production, to identify potential safety issues and drive risk mitigation strategies.
  • Evaluating and selecting appropriate safety mechanisms and technologies to enhance the safety performance of our vehicles.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant safety standards and regulations (ISO 26262, IEC 61508, etc.) and guiding the team through the certification process
  • Supply chain management
  • Support to electrical and electronic projects and technology development
  • Provide the necessary technical direction to ensure that technology plans are future proofed to support NPI process framework, World Class Quality (WCQ) objectives, and continued ISO9001/ IATF16949 compliance
  • Drive continuous improvement across all associated aspects of the Quality Engineering process
  • Represent the business externally, publishing relevant technical papers, and presenting global best practice on behalf of the business in appropriate global industry forums
  • This role will require significant interface with various stakeholders and may require a level of travel internationally
  • The role will involve building relationships, knowledge sharing and pursue and development of mutually beneficial technical collaborative opportunities.
What you bring along:
  • Degree qualified or comparable experience

  • Experience of product development activities for safety critical systems, such as Advanced Driver Assistance

  • Experience of working with automotive safety standards and management systems, such as ISO 26262, IEC 61508

  • Experience of safety analysis at a system level, such as safety concepts, hazard analysis, risk assessments, FMEA, FTA etc
