Full Job Description

Mastered has been on a mission to help creative professionals thrive at work since 2014, supporting more than 6,000 creators, brand owners, designer-makers, managers and leaders along the way.

Since 2022, we have been delivering government-funded Skills Bootcamps to upskill the games and VFX industries - and have been lucky to work with some incredible studios and their talent in that time. With more funding secured for 24/25, we can grow the number of studios who can access government-funded training, and grow our team.

Your mission -

Forge and nurture great relationships in the games and VFX industries, built on truly, deeply knowing what studios need from best-in-class training, married to an exceptional business development process.

What you’ll be doing -

The ideal candidate will be someone who will be part-training and skills guru, part-business development master, and part-relationship builder. Day-to-day you will be:

  • Staying up to date with industry trends, market dynamics, and the latest skills needs.
  • Being actively present at industry events, big or small, up and down the country. This is a job for someone who loves networking, loves meeting others in-person, loves hearing about the challenges they face - and is happy and able to travel, across the country and abroad, on a weekly basis, to do so.
  • Out and about meeting clients, trade bodies, communities that represent under-served talent in the industry, connectors, educators, opinion formers,  and others that make each industry tick.
  • Presenting to stakeholders what Mastered can offer in brilliant and passionate ways, particularly in terms of the offer of 70-90% government funding for their internal upskilling needs.
  • Managing relationships through regular contact, excellent use of data, listening to client feedback, and a solid understanding of your partnership pipeline.
  • Working closely with the CEO to develop thought leadership pieces that are useful to the  industry, be it reports, podcasts, talks, social media posts, or anything else you can dream up.
  • Being a great collaborator with the internal teams, especially those in curriculum design, client management, and delivery, to make sure what we promise and what we deliver matches up.
  • Ultimately, being responsible for attracting and winning new studio partnerships.

We are open to those who want to do this part-time or full-time. Currently our preference is towards an initial 6-month contract engagement.

What you’ll need -

  • a demonstrated passion for the game and/or VFX industry, and a genuine interest in seeing clients succeed.
  • an understanding of (or ability to quickly learn) skills needs - technical and soft - in games and VFX
  • ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and partners.
  • willingness to travel frequently to meet with clients and attend industry events in-person.
  • self-motivation and ability to manage your own relationships, leads, and pipeline.
  • sound organisational skills to marry your expert networking skills with delivery of targets and objectives.

In return, we will offer  -

  • Competitive compensation between £40-60K pro rata based on experience
  • Massive amount of flexibility. We are a fully remote company. You can work the hours that suit you, your clients and your colleagues. You can choose your own place of work. You can do this role part-time or full-time, if you convince us it can be done.
  • Huge amounts of trust and belief, giving you the freedom and the responsibility to get results you’ll own.
  • Support from your manager and team-mates, through formal training, mindset coaching that we offer, or just through simple, daily interactions.
  • A chance to be part of a team that has a strong sense of mission, that cares about the work that they’re doing, and looks out for one another.

At the heart of our offer is work with meaning and a purpose that matters (helping creative talent succeed!), a team you’ll love to work with, and the freedom and responsibility to get on with solving great problems.

That's our pitch. Now over to you.
