About the role
We are looking for a Brake Press Operator for our Spence Doors business based in Cheltenham VIC. In this role you will produce high quality timber and metal work within commercial and domestic industries. Operate machinery safely and efficiently according to operating standards/instructions and in line with health and safety regulations, practices and legislation.
Key Accountabilities / Responsibilites
- Adjust components where necessary using a grinder or other cutting tools.
- Operate Brake Presses, Laser Cutter and Turrets etc.
- Assess and change which tooling is relevant for specific production order
- Problem solve amongst team to overcome daily obstacles
- Develop bend patterns working with supervisor and colleagues
- Fit components using jigs.
- Read and understand workshop drawings.
- Fabrication of profile lengths using bending and cutting machinery.
- Identify material types.
- Conduct quality control checks on own work.
Maintenance
- Record/report details of defective goods.
- Equipment maintenance as scheduled.
Key Position Criteria
- Brake Press experience
- Work within tolerance; ensure quality in the product.
- Sound written and verbal communication skills.
- Comply with standards and procedures of Spence Doors following WHS guidelines and wear personal protective equipment.
- Ability and willingness to follow direction as well as the ability to work independently.
- Must be able to read a tape measure, pressure gauge, level and square.
- Complete assigned work within given timeframe and according to specification.
- Report all defective parts and materials to Leading Hand.
