Scope

Stunning hotel, owned by Dominus, near London Bridge requires a commercially driven, dynamic and natural leader to take on this role as General Manager for a unique and internationally branded hotel.


The General Manager will lead the hotel strategy and delivery of the hotel budget, while maintaining the high standards of customer service, as well as ensuring the continued development of team members with sincere passion for the industry. Naturally confident and highly driven with commitment to hospitality, customer service and quality with a passionate and hands-on approach.


About The Dixon: Occupying an awe-inspiring building that dates from 1905, when it served as the Tower Bridge Magistrates Court, The Dixon is a beautifully appointed 4* deluxe hotel with 193 bedrooms & suites, food and beverage outlets, gym facilities and meeting and events spaces. The hotel’s location close to Tower Bridge and London Bridge is a prime location for both corporates and leisure guests, capturing all the culture, creativity and variety of its SE1 postcode.


High performing hotel, successfully meeting Marriott audit brand standard expectations. TripAdvisor – ranked 90 in London of 1200 hotels.


Owned and managed by Dominus and operating as a franchise under the Marriott Autograph Collection.


Key responsibilities


Strategy

  Lead the strategy and delivery of the hotel Budget expectations Inspire and create a team that delivers a friendly, authentic, caring, and thoughtful service Responsible for managing the day-to-day hotel operations in line with all corporate and brand standards, maximising profitability as well as guest and team member engagement

People

  Ensure the successful development, recruitment and training of the team Create an inclusive and inspiring leadership and team culture Engage the team by being inspirational and motivating and ensure they are developed to contribute to the success of the business

Quality

  Create and deliver a personalised guest service in line with Marriott brand values, ensuring an authentic and friendly experience for all Ensure that service standards are established, and consistently apparent in the hotel's day-to-day operations in order to differentiate the hotel from its competitors Ensure guest satisfaction from the overall experience is translated into high guest scores on review websites

Profit

  Create a revenue strategy and use high guest satisfaction to drive revenue and profit Take an active role in forecasting, budgeting and reporting for the hotel Develop awareness and reputation of the hotel and brand in the local community and promote team member involvement in community outreach efforts


Skills and experience 

  •   We are looking for an energetic, charismatic, creative leader with the following:
  •   Background in an international 4-star hotel
  •   Leadership in a similar capacity 
  •   Strong network within London hospitality scene
  •   Previous experience with the brand in a similar position is preferable 
  •   Personal commitment to hospitality, customer service and quality with a passionate and hands-on approach 
  •   Strong business acumen combined with excellent leadership and liaison skills
  •   Committed to the development of the business and the hotel team 
  •   A positive attitude and excellent communication skills Ability to remain calm whilst under pressure
