Full Job Description

Our client is a very successful and bespoke manufacturing business and Staffbase have been appointed to recruit for the position of General Manager.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the 'day to day' operational management and improvement of a bespoke manufacturing business in South East London.

The Role:

Reporting to the directors the General Manager will be responsible for the management of all operational functions including manufacturing, production, operations and logistics. You will manage a small team of departmental managers and your key aim will be to lead the drive for continuous improvement throughout the business.

Your duties will include: -

  • Identify opportunities for and implement actions to improve manufacturing processes, production, lead times and product quality etc etc
  • Ensure effective fiscal control of all budget responsibilities
  • Management and control of manufacturing, operations and logistics functions
  • Develop and expand continuous improvement culture throughout the business
  • Review supply chain and procurement functions and negotiate cost reductions
  • Lead regular performance review meetings and report to the board of directors
  • Ensure legal compliance throughout the business.

Candidate:

The successful candidate will be an experienced General Manager or Operations Manager with a proven track record for delivering business success.

Ideally you will have previous management experience in the manufacturing sector, fabrication, bespoke manufacturing (metals, wood, composites) and applicants with additional exposure to functions including logistics and design will be preferred.

Hours of Work:

Monday to Friday - 40 hours

Benefits:

Excellent basic salary negotiable 80K - 90K + Benefits
