Full Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate to complete a 12 month placement within our Next Home design team - within the gifting & stationery department. Ideally we would  like this candidate to join our team as  soon as possible.

About the team

This role will support the  gifting & stationery team. The team design and develop pattern and graphics for all Stationery & gifting items that include cards, wrap, notebooks, stationary and packaging.  Taking responsibility for everything from initial trend direction through to generating original artworks including all over prints and character design. 


About the role

Provide pattern and graphic support throughout the whole design process.  This may include Trend research, generating artworks, creating style guides and briefing designs to factories.

Provide administrative support to the Design Team, taking responsibility for tasks such as day to day department requests, colour matching, setting up sample/product displays and logging samples.
 

About you

A passion for drawing, illustration and graphics 

Ability to adapt your handwriting to design for different customer types

Experience and Ability to work with Photoshop

Strong communication skills, you will be capable of working well with other teams and building productive relationships.

Highly self-motivated.

Strong interest in fashion & Home and awareness of trends.

Confident presentation skills
 

Specific skills/qualifications & requirements
 

Recently graduated with a degree in graphics, illustration or surface pattern design

Strong drawing and painting skills 

Intermediate user of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
