We have an incredible opportunity to join us here at Phoenix Group as a HR Risk and Governance SM&CR Analyst to join our HR Risk & Governance team.

Who are we?

We want to be the best place that any of our 6,800 colleagues have ever worked.

We’re the UK’s largest long-term savings and retirement business. We offer our 12 million customers products across our market-leading brands, including Standard Life, SunLife and ReAssure, with c.£259 billion of assets under administration. We’re a FTSE 100 organisation that is tackling key issues such as transitioning our portfolio to net zero by 2050, and we’re not done yet.

The role

This is a great opportunity for someone with some experience of the UK SM&CR regime and equivalent regimes with other regulators, for example CBI and an understanding of the Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD) and its CPD requirements.

On a day-to-day basis you could be involved in a number of undertakings. For example, you could be coordinating the required information to support applications for regulatory roles, analysing IDD data or responding to queries and questions from the business on a range of SM&CR or IDD questions . You’ll need to be able to collaborate with a number of areas across the business, including Compliance and Company Secretarial, as well as interact with Senior members of the Phoenix Executive Team.  You will also need to be able to keep track of multiple tasks.

A large part of the role will be working with the business supporting the SM&CR regime, specifically in relation to Control Function Holder (CFH) roles and there will be a requirement to work alongside other HR Risk & Governance colleagues with the annual Fitness & Propriety assessments.

In addition, this role will require you to support the HR Risk and Governance SM&CR Manager with the T&C regulatory requirements under SM&CR, and the CPD requirements of IDD.

What are we looking for?

This is the role for you if you enjoy a challenge and can look after and switch between multiple projects – sometimes on a daily basis.

You’ll need to be able to take ownership and lead on your cases, work autonomously, but at the same time collaborate and build relationships with lots of different areas across the business and work alongside other HR Risk & Governance Colleagues.

We are looking for someone who is a good communicator, with all levels and all styles of communication. You will have strong influencing skills and will not be afraid to challenge yourself and others to get the right outcomes.

You’ll need to be solution driven, with analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail, ensuring a high quality of applications, and equivalent, are submitted.

If this sounds like you and you have some experience of the regulatory requirements of SM&CR, and or a good understanding of IDD and the Phoenix business model, then we would love to hear from you.

We want to hire the whole version of you.

We are committed to ensuring that everyone feels accepted and welcome applicants from all backgrounds. If your experience looks different from what we’ve advertised and you believe that you can bring value to the role, we’d love to hear from you.

If you require any adjustments to the recruitment process, please let us know so we can help you to be at your best.
