Full Job Description

Reporting to the EMEA HR Regulatory Affairs Lead, you will lead the HR team responsible for implementation of the UK Senior Managers Regime (SMR) across the firm’s UK Senior Manager population for its regulated legal entities. This includes engagement with regional senior management and governance leads to prepare and submit new Senior Manager applications, as well as oversight of regulatory initiatives and changes which impact the Firm’s implementation of the UK SMR

You will be joining the team that is responsible for effectively assessing regulatory commitments owned by HR across all lines of business and corporate functions and completing certain deliverables and running ongoing processes. For the EMEA region, this includes:

  • Oversight of EMEA regulated employees end-to-end operating model, including the UK Senior Managers and Certification Regime
  • Managing the review process to determine FCA/PRA Conduct Rule breaches and coordinates the EMEA HR Control Forum
  • Oversight of the EMEA HR response to regulatory examinations and audits
  • Leading regulatory change for HR in EMEA as it relates to financial regulations

Job responsibilities

  • Lead the team responsible for development and submission of Senior Manager applications, related regulatory submissions and correspondence with the Firm's regulators
  • Coordinate senior stakeholders across all Lines of Business to maintain the Firm's Management Responsibility Maps (MRM) and Senior Manager Statements of Responsibilities (SoR)
  • Develop and deliver induction and ongoing training to Senior Managers and other internal stakeholders
  • Assist with senior leadership transitions including overseeing the Senior Manager handover process
  • Advise Senior Managers and other internal stakeholders on application of the SMR rules and regulatory guidance
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives including enhancement of team controls, maintenance of standard operating procedures and regulatory change implementation
  • Report on implementation of SMR across the Firm and prepare metrics on performance of the team
  • Ability to engage senior stakeholders and their support teams
  • Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to understand and navigate regulatory requirements
  • Understanding of risk management and control frameworks
  • Experience with the UK Senior Managers and Certification Regime would be desirable, although not essential
