Full Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and driven individual to join a highly successful and professional team. You’ll be working as a Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Associate, with focus on HSE culture and compliance. You will be part of the Campus HSE Team, reporting to the HSE Manager, supporting the manufacturing and logistics teams across our large site in Darlington.

We are looking for talented HSE Associates to join our team specializing in Health and Safety for Engine Business Segment in Darlington.

This is a permanent contract working 37.5 hours per week. 8am -4:30pm Monday-Thursday and 8am-1:30pm on Friday.

Salary is £31,501 - 38,500.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

·       Providing support cross-functionally to ensure compliance with Cummins internal requirements, applicable HSE regulations and industry standards.

·       Contributing to daily HSE operations within the site providing support to find and solve issues.

·       Assisting in hazard identification, environmental aspect identification and risk assessment programs to identify improvement opportunities and gaps in HSE compliance obligations.

·       Participate in HSE incident management investigation and reporting, as well as the development of effective solutions.

· Assisting with training, skills development and internal communications related to hazard prevention and control for employees within the site.

·       Collecting and analyzing data to understand key performance indicators and evaluate performance trends.

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

·       Previous placement year or graduate role in discipline (preferred)

·       Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline (preferably related the environment, occupational health and safety or engineering) (required)

·  Knowledge of maintenance of the ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 50001 management systems (preferred)

·       Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·       Good time management and ability to meet deadlines.

·       You will have the drive to and enthusiasm to proactively influence the Health, Safety and Environmental Culture

·       Collaborative Skills

·       Good at building relationships across a range of stakeholders with a desire to meet shared objectives.
