Head Balance Sheet Forecasting Platforms

Embark on an exciting opportunity to drive innovation and shape the future of banking. Standard Chartered Bank is seeking a dynamic and strategic Balance Sheet Platforms Head to lead the development of a world-class suite of solutions for effective Balance Sheet management and forecasting. This role provides a unique chance to collaborate with leaders in the balance sheet management domain, engaging with diverse stakeholders and ensuring the delivery of cutting-edge solutions.

  Key Responsibilities:

  Strategy:

• Lead the development of a clear strategy for balance sheet forecasting tools and platforms, ensuring scalability and robustness.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to collect modelling and forecasting tool requirements, developing models and solutions to enhance forecasting capability.

  Business:

• Lead the global build-out of balance sheet forecasting tools, engaging with stakeholders across the organization.

• Collaborate with subject matter experts to design requirements and prototype forecasting, scenario modelling, and simulation solutions.

• Act on behalf of stakeholders to ensure business outcomes are executed, engaging with segment, regional, and country stakeholders.

• Provide business forecasting assumptions and specific scenario use cases for solution development.

• Own and lead a prioritization forum for platform enhancements.

  Processes:

• Be the FP&A cluster product owner for the suite of balance sheet management models and forecasting tools.

• Develop proofs of concept and tactical forecasting solutions, ensuring compliance with model risk standards.

• Define BAU operating practices, manage stakeholder feedback of model validation, and ensure business intent remains relevant.

  People & Talent:

• Lead and develop the Balance Sheet Platforms team, setting the vision and direction for exceptional growth.

• Ensure team members have the skills and capabilities to deliver on objectives, working with them to develop growth plans.

• Be a key member of the Group FP&A Leadership team and Treasury Platforms Team.

  Risk Management:

• Interpret the Group’s financial information through balance sheet forecasting and effectively manage model risk.

• Demonstrate a clear understanding and ability to manage data quality and other data-related risks.

  Governance:

• Ensure compliance with the Group’s policies and procedures, and the regulatory framework.

• Maintain appropriate documentation and controls for modeling, reporting, and analytics.

 

Key Stakeholders:

• Treasury Management Team

• Finance Forum

• All ACFOs

• Key business colleagues including FRM, CPM

• Other members of Group FP&A and Capital teams

 

Qualifications:

• Chartered Financial Analyst or accounting qualification preferred but not essential.

Experience of building sophisticated balance sheet and forecasting models

• High standard of written English, with the ability to review, summarize, and communicate material accurately and succinctly.

• Excellent and Communication Stakeholder Management Skills.  

• Business Acumen.
