Full Job Description
DescriptionCarbo Culture is seeking a Head of Biomass Strategy to join the team!
Would you want to take ownership of a critical component of carbon removal at scale in a growing company?
Carbo Culture is a carbon
removal technology developer on a mission to help mitigate climate
change by permanently removing CO2. We’re headquartered in Helsinki
with operations in the UK and the US. Our team is largely remote, and
we meet for team or company wide summits.
As the Head of
Biomass Strategy Lead, you’ll lead the development and contracting
strategy for biomass sourcing for Biochar Carbon removal projects.
This includes negotiating and procuring biomass purchases, finding new
areas of innovation, and evaluating the technical, commercial,
sustainability, and ESG viability of different biomass solutions.
Passionate about solutions, you’ll provide thought leadership on how
we procure large volumes over multi-years and ensure projects are
workable once handed over to development. The role will also be the
procurement lead, with an end-to-end responsibility for contract and
partnership negotiations, price, delivery and anything else related
from having biomass arrive at our facilities daily to a ten-year
strategy for biomass pricing.
We’re looking for someone who understands the biomass market well, who is a driven self-starter who thrives in an area with little direction or oversight, and who can be relied on as a Carbo Culture representative in international, often complex negotiations. You can effectively communicate and establish mutually beneficial partnership models.
You are experienced in
leading projects, you’re a fast learner, great collaborator and love
working in a startup team in a hands-on environment. This role is
remote for now, and working within European time zones. Regular travel
to our demo site / next sites, as well as partners’ sites expected in
the future.
