The Role

This permanent, full-time position, reporting to our Director of Data & Analytics will see you developing and implementing a comprehensive Data Governance strategy, policies, and framework to ensure the quality, security, and compliance of the Dignity's data assets.

The goal of the Head of Data Governance is to enforce data practices as per changing regulatory policies and meet compliance requirements. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, establishing data stewardship practices, and driving a culture of data responsibility throughout the organization.

You will play a crucial part in ensuring that Dignity’s data assets are effectively and responsibly managed to meet business objectives, comply with regulations, and mitigate risks associated with data.

Let’s take a closer look at what your day-to-day will look like:

  • Own and lead the development of the Data Management Framework
  • Evolving and embedding the Data Management Framework into the business at all levels
  • Ensure adherence to a data governance framework for data practices, policies, and standards both at a technical and functional level.
  • Serve as a single point of contact for data quality and governance.
  • Ensures the Data is manageable and provides more support to accelerate data-driven digital transformation.
  • Defines the roles and responsibilities related to Data Governance and ensures accountability for the stewardship and master data assets.
  • Develop & Maintain inventory of the enterprise data.
  • Facilitate the development and implementation of Data Protection and Data Quality Standards
  • Define the system and the indicators of the quality and performance metrics and ensure compliance with data-related standards and policies.
  • To lead and coordinate with senior management such as IT business and Operations heads regarding Data Governance.
  • Design & Develop Data Governance RoadMap and provide progress reports.
  • Identify new business opportunities with the use of data assets to achieve efficiency and represent the data as the business asset.
  • Lead on aligning respective data sharing between the enterprise and its vendors, and partners.
  • Coordinate regarding the implementation of Data Governance Strategy across operational units
  • Advise management regarding the Data Policy and the emerging opportunities it brings.
  • Handles a plethora of responsibilities in the realm of Data Governance and manages the Enterprise Data and leaves the Data Footprint.
  • Ongoing management of models, frameworks, glossaries and policies; reviewing regularly and updating processes where appropriate and required
 

Must haves we’re looking for in experience for this role:

  • Proven experience in the development and implementation of a comprehensive Data Governance strategy 
  • Experience working within Senior data governance, data management, or a related role.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field (e.g., Information Management, Data Science, Business Administration).
  • Relevant certifications in data governance, data management, or related areas
  • Strong understanding of data privacy regulations and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Skilled in assessing and mitigating risks related to data governance, including data breaches and privacy violations.
  • Familiarity with Azure and SQL
  • Leadership, people management & stakeholder management
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with data governance tools and technologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
