(Internal - People Partner Manager)

Reporting to: Head of Employee Experience FLPO, Europe

The role is based in the UK, ideally in central England

(Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, Northamptonshire)

The Head of HR role (People Partner Manager) partners with senior leaders in their geography creating People Strategies and Plans that drive business goals. The role is characterized by variety as each country has its own differences and needs.

Key responsibilities

You will work in a dynamic environment, coaching and supporting your team of HR (People) Partners and HR (People) Advisors as well as interacting with stakeholders in the wider People Function at Maersk. In countries where we are still small in scale, you will share HR resource with the Ocean teams.

  • Co-create the people strategy and plan for each country and lead your team to deliver this in support of the business goals.

  • Represent the people elements in commercial plans supporting new business wins and ensuring we drive the employee experience

  • Partner business leaders ensuring a good balance of challenge and support to ensure robust people plans delivering the best employee experience in our sites.

  • Support local Partner with our customers HR senior leaders when needed

  • Coach and develop your own team to ensure consistently high quality delivery within your geography

  • Build a flexible, adaptable team that can be effectively deployed to support new launches, new customer implementations and expansions of sites

  • Create an environment where employees are highly engaged, proud of their work and have a strong sense of purpose

  • Ensure a strong, positive employee and labour relations climate in your countries working with local ER experts

  • Own the delivery of all employee lifecycle processes ensuring outcomes are delivered for frontline employees in a customer focused way.

  • Contribute to European and Global projects ensuring the ‘voice’ of operations is heard and understood

  • Ensure best practice sharing within the Europe Region and with global peers to continuously improve the effectiveness and efficiency of delivery as well as the employee experience

  • Exemplify the Maersk brand and values

Who we are looking for

As for the skillset and experience, we are looking for:

  • HR generalist at a senior level with international experience in roles in contract logistics or manufacturing with complexity and scope, and solid understanding of HR fundamentals

  • Leadership experience: be a natural leader and passionate about driving team engagement to create a high performing team

  • Strong business partner challenging and supporting senior leaders to deliver on business results

  • Experienced dealing directly with customers senior teams and HR leaders.

  • Experience in leading change, managing transformations and organisation building

  • Experienced in leading employee relations in unionised environments

  • Ability to proactively drive the people agenda navigating a complex stakeholder matrix

  • Flexibility and adaptability to operate in a fast-paced, developing project environment, taking ownership and setting directions with minimal guidance

  • Resilience: the change process, is anything but straightforward; accepting uncertainty and bouncing back from setbacks while keeping your enthusiasm is a tall order, but we need it

  • Be self-driven, energetic, and have a ‘can-do’ mindset

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
