Head of International Trade Compliance

Gleeson Logistics are exclusively partnering with an Internationally renowned Retailer in their search for an experienced Head of International Trade Compliance, being one of the UK Leads for all things Import & Export.

As the Head of International Trade Compliance, you will lead a dedicated team, including an International Product Trade Compliance Manager and an Exports Data Team Manager. Working closely with the global Distribution Centres and cross-functional teams, your role will be pivotal in setting strategy, driving compliance, and supporting international expansion.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the end-to-end Import and Export process, ensuring operations are compliant with international trade regulations.
• Guarantee product availability within their fulfilment centres in Ireland, the Netherlands, and across our E-Commerce offerings in the EU, USA, and Australia.
• Lead the International Trade Compliance Team, including direct management of the International Product Compliance Manager and the Exports Data Team Manager.
• Drive process improvements across import and export operations to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Ensure all imports and exports meet relevant regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
• Build and maintain relationships with third-party partners and internal stakeholders to support seamless operations.
• Translating complex legislation into language that can be shared with stakeholders and colleagues

The Ideal Candidate:

• Extensive experience in a strategic leadership role within global import/export operations.
• Deep understanding of international trade regulations and compliance requirements.
• Previous experience in implementations of AEO Status and Bonded Warehousing
• Experience in managing internal stakeholders and simplifying complex customs legislation
