What’s the mission?
Focusing on our Landscape Products
Division we’re looking for a brand-new
Head of Manufacturing. This is a rare and exciting
opportunity within our Senior Management team, where
you can have an immediate impact, lead, and drive our manufacturing
operations to new heights.
Reporting to our Group
Manufacturing Director, Simon, you’ll be accountable for all
operational activities, including full P&L responsibility, developing
strategic initiatives, ensuring operational excellence, enhancing
efficiency, and continuing to ensure the highest quality across our 9
nationwide Marshalls Landscape Products Manufacturing
sites.
People are at the heart of what we do, and the
leadership of our dedicated work force is key to the success of this
role. You’ll take on the leadership of 7 direct reports. We’ll look to
you to consider strategic direction, talent development, collaboration
and take on resource management.
All of this is underpinned
by a fostering of a strong safety culture, with a drive for continuous
improvement consistent with safely regulations and environmental
standards.

Skills
and experiences we’re looking for:
- Proven background of successful leadership in manufacturing operations, with at least 5+ years of experience in a senior management role.
- Deep understanding of Lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Strong business insight with the ability to align strategies with overall objectives.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively lead and collaborate.
- Demonstrated experience in managing multiple manufacturing facilities across different locations.
- Knowledge of relevant industry regulations and standards.
- The ability and evidence of commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Proven track record of driving operational excellence and cost/budget control.
- Ability to adapt to changing market conditions and prioritise initiatives.
- Experience of leading and delivering change within a unionised environment.
- Familiarity of managing capital programmes.
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or a related field would be ideal.
- An advanced degree or MBA would be great but isn’t essential.
- Project management experience is a bonus.
- And finally, knowledge of OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) would be a great advantage.
