Recruitment Opportunity: Head of Physics

Role Overview: As the Head of Physics, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the academic direction of the Physics department. You will lead a team of dedicated teachers, fostering a culture of innovation and academic rigor. Your responsibilities will include curriculum development, staff management, and ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Physics department, providing strategic direction and support to staff.
  • Develop and implement an engaging and challenging Physics curriculum that aligns with the school's objectives.
  • Mentor and support departmental staff, fostering professional growth and collaboration.
  • Monitor student progress and attainment, implementing effective intervention strategies where necessary.
  • Oversee the organization of extracurricular activities and educational trips related to Physics.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to contribute to whole-school initiatives and development plans.

Requirements:

  • Qualified teacher status (QTS) with a degree in Physics or related field.
  • Proven experience teaching Physics at secondary level, with a track record of achieving excellent results.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate colleagues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a commitment to fostering positive relationships within the school community.
  • A passion for Physics education and a desire to instill a love of learning in students.
