About the Role:

As the Head of Supply Chain Management, you will play a pivotal role in the day-to-day operations of our agile purchasing and supplier management department. You will be responsible for ensuring timely and cost-effective supply of parts for our programmes, managing technical components and their associated supply chains, and identifying and mitigating risks to ensure continuous supply. You will also provide guidance for estimates and support the growth of our engineering business activity.


Key Responsibilities:


- Lead ongoing workplan for Supplier Management, Purchasing, and Buying activities.

- Build and continually improve relationships with supply chain partners and customers.

- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to streamline purchasing, distribution, and logistics processes.

- Support programmes through to completion, ensuring on-time delivery and overall project ownership.

- Develop timelines, track progress, and communicate critical project achievements or risks.

- Own supply base commercials, manage contracts, and support delivery requirements.

- Develop and align a cohesive team to support departmental workload.


Person Specification

Core Competencies and Experience:

Essential:

- Project Management: Proven experience in initiating, planning, executing, and closing projects.

- Supply Chain Knowledge: Proficiency in system and data management, ERP, MRP systems, and supply chain operations.

- Supply Chain Project Management: Experience in commercial agreement management, collaborative approvals, and supplier quality assessment.

- Proposal Cost Analysis: Ability to conduct data-led trend assessments to support proposal development.

- Supplier Onboarding & Contract Management: Skills in commercial risk alignment, contract negotiation, and budget control.

- Supply Chain Coordination: Expertise in channel coordination and KPI monitoring to improve supply chain performance.

- Supply Chain Strategy: Working knowledge of evaluating cost-benefit trade-offs in operational components.

- Demand Planning: Experience in creating reliable forecasts to support ongoing programme modelling.

- Supply Chain Solutions: Continuous improvement activities with high-risk suppliers.

- Cross-Functional Team Building: Inclusive decision-making and escalation buy-in experience.
