NEW ROLE:
Head of Sustainability
West Midlands
DOE
Industry sector: Building Services
Duties:
o Own the company's
Carbon Reduction Plan.
o Drive the Scope 1, 2, and 3
agenda.
o Conduct assessments to identify areas where
sustainable practices can be integrated.
o Collaborate with
internal and external stakeholders, including employees, suppliers,
customers, and community groups, to build relationships and gather
input on sustainability initiatives.
o Stay informed about
relevant environmental regulations and ensure the business complies
with them.
o Gather data on environmental impact, energy
consumption, waste generation, and other relevant metrics.
o
Analyse sustainability performance and use the data to identify areas
for improvement.
o Evaluate and monitor the environmental and
social impact of the supply chain i.e. embodied carbon and
contract-specific Scope 3.
o Coordinate pollution control,
waste management, recycling, environmental health, conservation, and
renewable energy initiatives.
Skills &
Experience
o Genuine passion for the environment and
sustainability and belief in the difference a company can
make.
o Demonstrable experience managing an environmental
function or similar relevant field.
o Ability to promote
environmental awareness and influence internal and external
stakeholders.
o Strong attention to detail for compiling
accurate statistics and writing factual environmental
reports.
o Commercial awareness and understanding of commercial
responsibilities.
o Ability to set sustainability targets,
develop plans, and oversee their delivery through effective project
management.
o Formal Qualifications such as Degree/ Diploma in
environmental management or similar advantageous and/or Membership of
IEMA or CIWEM beneficial. This is not essential - they are after an
experienced individual.
o Extensive knowledge of
ISO14001.
o Full UK driving licence required; occasional
overnight stays may be necessary.
