Location : Based in our London or Suffolk office. Hybrid working available. 
Employment Type: Permanent.  
Salary : £60,000 - £66,000 DPO + bonus & other benefits  
 

The Opportunity

Come and join our expanding Sizewell C (SZC) team and work on one of the most exciting and largest megaprojects in the UK, whilst being at the forefront of the UK’s climate change agenda and energy policy. Following on from the success of Hinkley Point C (HPC), the SZC Project is a nuclear new build project in Suffolk, which has obtained planning approval and Government financing support. The project is now seeking private investment with a view to start construction in 2024. When completed, it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years, which along with renewables, will support Britain to achieve Net Zero by 2050.
 

We’re looking for a versatile Health, Safety & Wellbeing Team Lead to combine expertise, effective communication, adaptability alongside a proactive mindset to actively contribute to creating a workplace where safety and wellbeing become ingrained in our culture.
 

Our teams are set up to work flexibly, with a hybrid working approach between our offices and your home. We provide a full suite of IT equipment to ensure that our employees can work from home comfortably and effectively. 
 

The Role


We’re looking for a Health Safety & Wellbeing Team Lead to support the take-off of one of Europe’s largest projects. As a Health, Safety & Wellbeing Team Lead you’ll have the opportunity to influencer the culture on a multibillion-pound project! You’ll work collaboratively with Health and Safety Advisor’s and stakeholders across the organisation to become a subject matter expert as well as facilitate providing the highest standard of health and safety support, guidance and oversight.


You’ll provide support and subject matter expertise for the CWP Programme Managers to ensure that CWP activities are delivered in line with the requirements of CWP Programme Definition Document.  


As well as the above, you’ll work as ‘One team’ supporting other members of the Conventional Health Safety and Wellbeing team as and when required. 
 

The Skills

  • As a Health, Safety & Wellbeing Team Lead you’ll be qualified to a professional standard, ideally NEBOSH National Diploma and hold membership for IOSH (or another relevant professional body). If you have previous experience of working with and understanding Power BI, this would be beneficial.
  • You’ll be proactive and able to work comfortably in a fast-pace and dynamic environment, taking on additional tasks to support colleagues, sharing responsibilities all working towards SZC’s project deliverables.
  • Having in-depth experience within Health Safety and Wellbeing within the civil space along with strong understanding of technical reporting/analytical skills is essential. 
  • If you have experience working on a large-scale civil project managing multiple interfaces, this would be highly beneficial.
  • The ability to effectively communicate is key! You’ll be confident in speaking with and influencing at all levels across the organisation, this will include challenging assumptions and processes to maintain a continuous improvement culture. 
  • You’ll empower the team, recognising the value brought from different cultures and experiences, respecting differences amongst the team whilst also encouraging best practice, shared learning and continuous improvement.
