Full Job Description

Position: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

Location: Walsall

Contract: Full-time/Temporary (Long Term)

Salary: 90 - 120 per day dependant on experience

Are you passionate about education and supporting the learning journey of young minds? We are seeking dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) to join our team in schools across the UK. As an HLTA, you will play a pivotal role in assisting teachers, supporting students, and contributing to the overall success of our educational environment. Roles are available on a day to day, short term and long term basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers in the delivery of lessons, providing support to individuals or small groups of students.
  • Lead pre-planned lessons under the guidance of teaching staff, ensuring learning objectives are met.
  • Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and supported.
  • Provide pastoral care and emotional support to students, promoting their well-being and academic progress.
  • Contribute to the planning, preparation, and assessment of learning activities, adapting materials to meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Assist with classroom management and behavior management strategies, fostering a respectful and conducive learning atmosphere.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to support the holistic development of students.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience working in an educational setting, ideally as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role.
  • Hold a Level 4 Higher Level Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent, or be willing to work towards achieving it.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to supporting teaching and learning activities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
