Full Job Description

Wilf At Home, an agency of the Oscar and Ella Wilf Campus for Senior Living located in Somerset, NJ, is in search of compassionate Home Health Aides to join our Team. Wilf at Home serves those individuals requiring assistance in their private homes/residences, Assisted Living Facilities, long-term care facilities,and anywhere one calls " HOME".

Primary Duties

Our At Home Health Aides are vital members of our team. They are responsible for creating a safe and nurturing environment while catering to the persons needs. This includes but is not limited to providing assistance in daily living and personal care services on a case by case bases.

Responsibilities

  • Provide health care services in patients residences
  • Perform domestic and household tasks
  • Transport and accompany patients to various activities and appointments
  • Administer simple prescribed medications
  • Assist with clients personal care activities
  • Monitor patients (vital signs, temperature, respiration, etc) and report on their condition
  • Maintain patients care records and document provided services
  • Assist patients with mobility and physical therapies/exercises
  • Instruct and counsel patients and families on diet and exercise
  • Collect routine specimens
  • Provide companionship and basic emotional or psychological support

Skills

  • Proven working experience as home health aide
  • Ability to monitor vital signs and to collect specimens
  • Familiarity with basic nutrition and personal hygiene standards
  • Proficiency in English
  • Nursing and health care administration skills
  • Caring and compassionate personality
  • Current CPR certificate
  • First Aid training
  • Valid driver's licence
  • High school degree

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to withstand prolonged or considerable stationary positions.
  • Able to push, pull, and position items up to 80 pounds from different positions and at different heights.
  • Able to move, transport, position, balance, remove, or manipulate patients, supplies, and/or equipment.
  • Able to complete tasks requiring action of muscles or groups of muscles such as stooping, reaching, bending, kneeling and/or crouching.
  • Able to communicate appropriately with individuals, including the population we serve, in person and on the telephone in situations with background.
  • Visual acuity to perform required care towards individuals.
