Job Description & Responsibilities:

The Principal / Managing Director will join a lean and fast-paced team working across Blackstone’s global business lines to support the Chief Operating Officer of Blackstone’s Institutional Client Services (ICS) group and lead on important firm-wide initiatives. The Principal / MD will work closely with various groups across Blackstone, including Institutional Client Solutions, Private Wealth Solutions, Public Affairs & Marketing, Legal & Compliance, and Finance and will also work directly with Blackstone senior management on projects encompassing firm-wide and business unit investor relations, public shareholder relations, public affairs, financial reporting, investment strategy and capital markets.

The main areas of responsibility for the role include:

  • Work with business units to strategically plan and coordinate multiple fundraises
  • Lead weekly effort to coordinate briefing materials and centralized deliverables for Blackstone’s Chief Operating Officer of ICS, including firm-wide ad-hoc requests, client and counterparty relationship commentary, and the collection of relevant data
  • Aggregate fund performance, sales metrics, capital raised data, and other quarterly reports from across each of Blackstone’s businesses
  • Produce and maintain business and fund competitive analyses, industry data tracking, etc.  
  • Assist with production of briefing notes and talking points ahead of client meetings
  • Provide general project support and/or oversight for external affairs initiatives, projects and events
  • Work with Blackstone’s Technology & Innovations team to improve Blackstone’s data management and reporting
  • Produce presentations, written commentary and financial schedules as needed and in advance of Blackstone’s quarterly earnings calls
  • Requires a willingness to learn and communicate complex financial and accounting concepts specific to Blackstone and the alternative asset management industry
  • Serve as a player-coach and contribute to positive team culture  

Qualifications:

  • Ten+ years of professional experience
  • This is a highly visible role internally. Thoughtfulness, attention to detail, and strong organization and communications skills are critical
  • Highly motivated (a self-starter), intelligent and demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors
  • Ability to problem solve, multi-task and execute a wide range of assignments, often under pressure to meet demanding deadlines
  • Strong writing and reading skills are essential
  • Candidate should be energetic and a team-oriented individual who thrives on challenge in a fast-paced environment
  • Advance knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint are required
  • Experience with Salesforce, Tableau and/or proficiency in reading and understanding SEC filings and financial statements is preferred
  • Candidate should possess and exhibit strong interest in the financial markets and current events
  • Strong work ethic, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a desire to learn
  • Operate with the highest degree of integrity, motivation, and intellectual curiosity
