Working for our growing IKEA contract at our brand new, state of the art site in Dartford. Customer service will be at the heart of this role, creating a better everyday!

What will you be doing as an Operations Manager?  

  • Ensure a safe working environment
  • Ensure Health & Safety regulations are adhered to
  • Ensure Safe Systems of Work are adhered to
  • Oversee thorough training of drivers and porters in transportation safety and compliance.
  • Ensure stock debriefed correctly at the end of day
  • Oversee management of HR processes – RTW’s, formal Investigations, disciplinaries etc. 
  • Oversee management of driver performance to achieve high standards of customer service, ensuring a high level of NPS / Happy Customer score is achieved. 
  • Ensure a high level of PDA compliance is achieved. 
  • Ensure all product returns procedures are adhered to. 
  • Ensure all relevant information is recorded for transport KPIs. 
  • Liaise with customer to resolve any customer issues. 
  • Assist with organisation of service and maintenance of vehicles in line with legal requirements. 
  • Help to Manage driver hours in line with working time legislation. 
  • Vehicle and driver records are managed in line with relevant legislation in preparation for transport audits. 
  • Investigate driver and porter incident reports. 
  • Undertake investigations as and when required. 
  • Actively promote and manage good health and safety practices within the working environment.

Relevant skills and experience as an Operations Manager:  

  • PC literate with good knowledge of Excel
  • Ability to lead a team effectively
  • Able to delegate tasks effectively
  • Self-motivated to work as an individual when required
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment
  • Experience of chairing disciplinary hearings
  • Be able to work under pressure whilst maintaining high standards.
