Injury Management Specialist, CTP
NSW - Sydney CBD Workers Compensation Full Time

THE ROLE

This role will involve reviewing and providing advice and coaching to our CTP team on various matters including: 

  • Rehabilitation Provider Referrals 
  • Treatment reviews and determinations 
  • Minor/Non-Minor Injury Decisions 
  • Development of Return to Work/Health strategies on claims 

This role is based in Sydney , however as part of the CTP team you will be part of a wider group that includes teams in Brisbane, Adelaide and Melbourne.  

As part of the NSW CTP team, you will be part of the wider CTP business unit that includes teams in South Australia and Victoria jurisdictions. This subject matter position ensures that our personal injury management practices in our claims teams are the most effective return to work, return to life and recovery strategies and to ensures we deliver the right customer experience. 

This is a full time, permanent position based in our Sydney CBD office, with flexibility to work from home, once fully trained.  

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Utilise reporting and systems available to identify and ensure daily compliance and legislative requirements are completed within timeframes along with sound data quality.
  • Supporting Case Managers alongside the Team Leader and the Technical Specialists through the course of their day to achieve their daily activities to a high quality.
  • Participate in regular panel reviews with Case Managers and key stakeholders focused on capability uplift in claims management strategy and project outcomes.
  • Review treatment requests and provide support and coaching to meet quality standards and compliance to ensure decisions are fair, reasonable and accord with the relevant legislation, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support Case Managers in areas such as medical spend initiatives and approval of payment of medical, hospital and rehabilitation expenses.
  • Provide regular training to Case Managers & other Specialists where there is opportunity for continuous improvement or changes in process and/or legislation.
  • In conjunction with the Team Leader identify, develop, and implement effective strategies to support the achievement of key performance and remuneration measures.
  • Providing review and sign off on decisions Minor/Non-Minor Injuries, treatment, and other injury management requirements.

ABOUT YOU

  • You enjoy sharing knowledge and coaching.
  • Strong oral and writer communication skills and a passion for working in a team environment to achieve outcomes, customer focused approach and someone who loves attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated experience in Injury management, particularly high risk significant injury claims.
  • Tertiary studies in Allied Health (Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Rehabilitation, Exercise Science, Nursing, or other Allied Health Field), is required.
  • Experience in injury management in rehabilitation/insurance/workers compensation is desirable.
