Full Job Description

As the Innovation and Transformation Manager within the highways industry, you will spearhead the identification and implementation of innovative solutions and service enhancements on the Surrey Highways Term Partnering Contract. This role plays a pivotal part, helping the contracts operations and back office (both client and contractor) effectively adopt and implement necessary changes that improve the day-to-day operations.



Key Responsibilities;



• Develop and maintain the Business Units innovation programme & Partnering timetable activities.

• Develop, maintain, analysis and report on the Contracts innovation Strategy and delivery plan.

• Challenge the status quo, think of new opportunities and work with a “service priority” approach.

• Keep management updated on innovation in the public realm space.

• Manage and report on the contracts innovation progress, managing all stakeholder engagement.

• Take the local corporate lead on innovation and improvements.

• Engage with the supply chain to capture innovation(s).

• Evaluate innovations and develop business cases to justify, or otherwise, their further development (showing value ‘cash-able and non-cash-able for the contract and client).

• Evaluate relevant opportunities from a variety of sources aligned to our strategy and focus areas.

• Facilitate innovation workshops, briefings, other working sessions (including from external providers) in the dedicated Innovation Hub.

• Promote a “yes-if” culture to innovation on the contract.

• Attend Client meetings as the innovation lead and provide feedback to the senior management team.

• Submit detailed reports to the senior Ringway management.

• Work in partnership with the client in the collaborative development of innovation.

• To carry out all duties and responsibilities in a manner that supports the company vision and mission.

• To work closely with the senior management team to ensure effective contract delivery and to facilitate an effective learning loop between contract delivery and innovation performance.
