The AWE Skills Academy is looking for an Mechatronic/Electronic Engineering instructor who is passionate about developing and nurturing the talents and aspirations of apprentices at the beginning of their career in engineering.

 Location – Reading / Basingstoke area

Package – £43,310 - £46000 (depending on your suitability and level of experience)

We are looking for the right candidate to have:

  • National Certificate (or equivalent) in an appropriate engineering discipline (related to Electronics Engineering)
  • Occupationally competent in engineering principles and techniques, particularly Electronics Engineering
  • Proven ability in literacy and numeracy
  • Ability to inspire and lead early career employees
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, and able to appeal to a range of audiences from new apprentices to senior management.
  • Good influencing skills
  • Great organisational ability and prioritisation skills
  • Creativity and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to initiate their own work and have high personal standards
  • Proven team working skills

As part of this role you must:

  • Have the ability for working with a diverse range of people and grades across the business, particularly young people
  • Be able to access all areas of site to monitor work placements, including radiological areas
  • Be willing to attend off-site events (e.g. meetings, conferences, residential courses, etc.) which may include short periods away from home including overnight stays
  • Be willing to undertake and pass a Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check
