Job Description


The principal purpose of the Integration Platforms Lead role is to direct the creation of value through data integration across all internal/external Platforms and Products through quality, performance and value-driven governance thus aligning the Integration Platforms function across the business to promote and facilitate optimisation, stability, security, and efficiency.


The Integration Platforms Lead will be responsible for management of Brambles integration technologies and teams as well as knowledge of external market innovation in the function. As part of this role, the Integration Platforms Lead is accountable for the day-to-day execution of integration services including development, interface governance, platform support, and strategic direction across the Brambles landscape. The role will be accountable for the evaluation of business platform integration requirements and monitoring of all integration services required, linking the business benefits created by resilient, responsive, and stable platform(s) consumed by a growing global business user base. In addition, the Integrations Platforms lead will be accountable to collaborate with the wider TS organization on portfolio demand and delivery performance metrics.


The role will maintain, incorporate, and provide facilitation of governance methods, standards, and principles across all processes and capabilities relative to Integration Platforms. These methods, standards and principles will be developed, adopted, communicated, and embedded by the wider platform, product, and analytics teams across all business units looking to integrate data, systems, and people. Governance processes and practices include as a minimum: integration technology service management, vendor management, risk management, integration roadmap and platform management (upgrades and modernization), integration catalogue, project support, and reporting.


Major/Key Accountabilities


  • Provide strong leadership and direction by setting clear objectives and priorities across the Integration Platform function by defining integration platform services, strategies, and roadmaps and communicating to applicable integration audiences.
  • Constructively partners with functional business leadership and other key stakeholders to shape strategy, identify opportunities, leverage industry trends, develop, deliver and implement value-added solutions that drive financial effectiveness, simplification and/or and improve integration services.
  • Develop integration best practices and principles, and a culture of service excellence across Technology Services, Data & Digital, Supply Chain, and the wider organisation.
  • Develop, communicate, and provide strong technical guidance and mentorship to embed integration technologies across Brambles platform and product teams.
  • Advise and provide direction of performance measurement metrics to support the operational objectives of existing and new integration platform services.
  • Develop and align Data and Analytics Platform(s) roadmaps with Business Platform teams, Enterprise Architecture, and appropriate data and analytics audiences.
  • Drive and enable a strong partnership across all platform/product support and development teams within, and external to, Technology Services ensuring interfaces are consistent, scalable, and secure.
  • Maintain and drive vendor/partner relationships at the highest levels through performance metrics and action plans.
  • Act as the single point of contact and escalation point for incidents which run across integration platforms and own process improvement protocols post-major incidents ensuring process uplift where appropriate leveraging internal / external resources.
  • Work collaboratively across platform teams and the various platform and product owners to identify the best areas for continuous improvement.
  • Meet Brambles internal governance, policy and process requirements (e.g., financial planning, procurement, internal audit, people and policies).
  • Develop an effective organisational structure in place which enables delivery of key initiatives.
  • Recruit, develop, motivate, develop and retain a technical proficient team. through talent management, succession planning, and skill development.
  • Develop and execute and effective risk framework for the integration platform.
  • Successful delivery of initiative milestones on time, within budget, and to agreed success criteria.


Qualifications

  • Bachelors or degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Masters degree preferred or equivalent combination of education/experience.


Experience

  • 12+ years' experience managing or influencing technical staff, transformation, and/or significant business as usual change projects.
  • Proven success in integration design, strategy, and defining integration delivery best practices and linking Business Platforms with the objectives of the Brambles business.
  • Experience supporting, implementing and delivery on ETL applications.
  • Migrating to new and off existing ETL landscapes a plus.
  • Working knowledge implementing industry standards and governance on real, near real time, and scheduled integration protocols (API, SFTP, batch, flat file).
  • Experience with cradle to grave implementations of API Management tools (e.g. Mulesoft, Amazon API Gateway, Azure API Manager).
  • Strong experience leading remote, cross-functional, matrixed teams across multiple continents within a multi-partner ecosystem that deliver successful outcomes.
  • Proven track record of building relationships and thought leadership influencing at senior management/executive-level within large organisations and of building and managing excellent business-wide relationships at all levels of an organisation.
  • Functional understanding of application financial management, business case development, and annual budget preparation.
  • Advanced interpersonal communications, with strong executive focused (and multi-audience) presentational creation and design skills.
  • Able to lead and manage the establishment of a strategic, operational, and technical decision-making function (and associated processes) required to ensure that Integration Platforms towers are aligned to the organisation’s priorities and risk appetite.
  • Function as the single point of integration platforms contact for all integration governance elements.
  • Be able to devise, develop and execute an effective Integration Platforms risk and controls framework for applicable and accountable Business Platforms areas in full collaboration with internal audit and their requirements.
  • Experience planning, managing, and reporting on the execution of platform sourcing, vendor management, platform upgrades, and critical platforms SLAs and service execution and applying recommendations for corrective and preventative action, whilst identifying opportunities to reduce risk exposure.
  • Governance of the operational estate, ensuring appropriate change controls, Integration Platforms service management processes, and security controls are followed.
