Job description - the role

AMS is the world's leading provider of Talent Acquisition and Management Services. Our contingent Workforce Solutions (CWS) service acts as an extension of our clients' recruitment team and provides professional interim and temporary resources. We partner with Arup to support contingent recruitment processes.

On behalf of Arup, we are looking for an Internal Communications Executive for an initial 3-month contract based in London. It is a hybrid model.

Job Description - The Role:

As an Internal Communications Executive, you will be passionate about creating shared understanding and shared meaning of our purpose with our people (members). You'll be a strong writer, storyteller and advisor who is confident in recommending communications interventions that are suited to the needs of the business, audience and strategy.

About the Opportunity:

  • Developing and executing proactive and strategic internal communication initiatives for the UKIMEA region alongside a wider regional and global Communications and Marketing team and in partnership with leaders and other business stakeholders,
  • Supporting the internal communications team in the successful implementation and rollout of these activities through innovative and creative thinking, tailoring strategic messaging, drafting and designing communications, maximising and developing our channels, segmenting audiences for more personalisation and intentional internal communication and - crucially - measuring and reporting on outcomes
  • Consulting with team leads and senior leadership on their communication and change management strategies and advising on best practices to enhance engagement.
  • Proactively identifying and linking themes together across the organisation to support employee and leadership engagement, working with other regional and global counterparts to ensure alignment of activities and messaging.
  • Coaching and supporting more junior members of the team with guidance and mentorship, championing professional excellence and best practice.
  • Deputising for the Internal Communications Lead on occasions

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • A proven background in internal communications, ideally with experience of working in a matrixed/ professional service environment.
  • Ability to craft a direction in an ambiguous environment and be adaptable to changing business requirements.
  • Demonstrable skills in written communication, copywriting and editing skills.
  • Creative curiosity and demonstrable interest in best practice internal communications techniques, with the ability to write for various voices using different tone or style to convey a message.
  • A proven ability to quickly build trusted relationships at multiple levels.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage multiple on-going activities
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Active involvement in the internal communication field / networks to keep up to speed with latest developments.
