As an Investor Client Management - Operations Relationship Manager in Investor Client Management (ICM) team, you will be responsible for building relationships with specific clients and identifying support, growth, and partnership opportunities to help deliver the firm to the clients in line with ICM’s and Markets Operations’ strategic objectives.

Investor Client Management (ICM) primarily operates across Markets, Prime Financial Services, Securities Services, and other businesses at J.P. Morgan.  It is responsible for managing the firm’s strategic relationships with priority clients, including asset managers, hedge funds, insurers, and public sector entities.  Markets Operations provides operational support and controls management across all asset classes including equities, fixed income, currencies, and commodities.  Investor Client Management - Operations Relationship Management (ICM ORM) is a collaboration between Investor Client Management and Markets Operations, with teams in APAC, EMEA and the Americas.

ICM ORM’s aim is to inform and connect clients to the firm across the pre and post trade space by providing internal and external intelligence on expected client activities and requirements driven by market structure and regulatory changes.  Additionally, it develops end-to-end solutions for cross-product client requirements to drive new business opportunities. 

Job responsibilities

  • Develops senior client relationships including COOs and heads of Operations, Legal, Risk, Counterparty Management, Regulatory Governance etc.
  • Focuses on contacts to help support pre-trade opportunities, regulatory impact, execution led market solutions and the strategic operations agenda
  • Connects and partner with Investor Client Management Senior Relationship Managers and Sales leads to identify potential business opportunities and understand strategic goals and direction
  • Builds and maintains a detailed knowledge of client structure, fund ranges and strategic requirements, and proactively engage in strategies and initiatives to improve client service levels, enable business efficiencies, and drive transformation across the operations space
  • Collaborates with internal teams including Legal, Credit Risk Management and Transition Management to assist in delivering new fund setups and trading frameworks
  • Facilitates and drive resolution of strategic client issues
  • Partners with Operations to ensure end-to-end connectivity, service delivery and support for clients across the firm and transactional lifecycle, with focus on accountability, action, and outcomes to ensure solutions meet client needs while aligning business deliverables to the firm's mission and goals
  • Keeps abreast of strategic industry developments, regulatory changes, vendor solutions and technology opportunities, and support clients with both market intelligence and adoption activities

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience in financial services including pre and post trade activities with sound understanding of financial markets, including the regulatory landscape and investment management industry
  • Strong client service mindset with a proven track record of dealing directly with clients at all levels of seniority and ability to drive consensus amongst stakeholders through collaboration and influence
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, comfortable working and partnering with senior client and business interaction 
  • Self-starter with capability of working as part of a diverse global team, efficiency at multi-tasking and ability to work under pressure to deliver multiple business demands on-time, to a high standard
  • Good understanding of cash and derivative product sets, with an interest in regulatory change, technology advances, operational excellence, and financial markets developments
  • Flexibility for domestic and international travel

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Knowledge of bi-lateral execution trade workflow and, prime brokerage and clearing operational support requirements
  • Creative thinker and problem solver with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree
